Mada to nije tema danas.
Instagram forex traders will not make you successful.
I feel like I need to have a rant. I have been trading for just over a year now and I have just started to become profitable. What made me profitable? Blocking out all of the rubbish that comes from forex Instagram. I didn’t find a fancy new strategy. I’m using the strategy that I formed in the first 3 months of me trading. So why only now am I starting to become profitable when I knew about the strategy almost a year ago? Because i chose to digest information coming from instagram forex traders. I’m not talking about the obvious scammers you see on your Instagram feed such as IML, broker commission marketers, or any of the likes. I’m talking about the select few that portray themselves as trading veterans and are popular in the trading community. They are constantly posting on their stories/profile 24/7. At least once a day they will post something like ‘only 2 slots left In my mentorship’ or ‘come join my free telegram channel’. Warning: if a trader you follow is trying to promote something, even if it’s just for Instagram followers, unfollow them. They will not help you become successful. So I had my strategy by month 3 of trading. I backtested it and it worked. But I started taking advice from these traders, I got my hands on a few of their courses and my trading began to fail. Every single course was pathetic. Never showed any live trading. No proof of anything. Always making excuses of why they can’t tag their MyFxBook. I unfollowed all these ‘traders’ and now I am profitable. Rant over.
Another rant about forex expectations and work ethic.
This will be another rant following my previous post about the expectations some people have when going into forex. I started trading just over a year ago. I did not go into forex thinking I was going to get rich quick. I knew it would be a massive learning curve and it may take me upwards of 5 years to make any sort of money. Because I accepted these facts before I started, I did not get frustrated at any point during my learning journey. I did not feel helpless when yet another one of my techniques failed. I didn’t quit. I knew I just had to keep going and eventually, I would see success. I also knew that as long as I remained consistent I would get there NO MATTER WHAT. You also have to want it bad. For the past year, I have woken up at 5am every single day before my rubbish warehouse job, and studied. Same in the evening. Why? Because it gives me more time to learn, and the more time = learn quicker. On my days off I literally sit all day and study/trade. A lot of people come into forex thinking they will be able to quit their job within a few months, but their effort doesn’t reflect that. If your only putting in 2 hours a week to learn it will take a lot longer than someone who puts in 20 hours a week. And enough of the ‘oh but I don’t have time for that!’ - everyone can find time, as I mentioned with myself I work 50 hour weeks but I get up earlier. Simple as that. If you truly want something you will do whatever you can to get it. To all new traders who are just starting out - accept that this may take years. Don’t get upset at other people who are seemingly millionaires after a year. They aren’t. Rant over.
Hi everyone, I will tell you what happened this month. I developed a Trading Strategy with six majors pairs. Pure price action. 2% risk on every trade. Minimum RRR of 1:2. I backtested it a lot of times and it started to make me profitable. Despite of this, I've lost more than 60% of my 10k account this month. I know it's because my psychology (probably FOMO). Have you ever experienced something like this?
Journalist looking for information/leads on forex scams in the era of COVID-19
Hello Forex! My name is Ed Prideaux and I’m a UK-based journalist (VICE, BBC, FT, Guardian, Independent, Spectator, etc.). I’m interested in writing an article about how scammers are using the internet - and especially social media platforms like IG - to recruit new bait amid the financial stresses of COVID-19. One area I want to explore is Forex trading, which has attracted its fair share of fake gurus, 'mentors' and other scammers for a while. I’m looking for tips, potential leads, and things to read and check out. Please share anything and everything you think I should see, and especially if it’s connected to COVID-19 and the economic slowdown. Ideally, I’d also like to source some testimonies from people in the sub-reddit who were recently scammed. As above, I’m especially interested in hearing from those who were targeted and fell for a scam because of financial hardship triggered by the global recession. For testimonies, everything would be anonymous on request. If you want to help, feel free to PM me or leave a comment, and I’ll PM you. Thanks - Ed
Forex vs stock market This is meant as a discussion. Which is generally more profitable for day trading. Pros and cons of both. Etc I know this is very complicated but I wanna start day trading and I don’t know which I wanna do. I’m 19 and I’m college college and I like analytics.
For example, in day trading stocks, with around $25,000 (leveraged 4x to $100,000), good traders can pretty consistently make around 0.4-0.8%+ per day, just curious what the equivalent to this is in forex.
Should I invest in this company to learn forex trading?
Recently one of my friends that is equally into trading gave me a link for this company he has been practing with. Before I heard about this company I just liked picking his brain and having a back and fourth with him about what to do next etc etc. But I'm getting some bad vibes, ok so the company was just formed right? So I understand if they are a little new and don't have everything figured out. But certain things are seriously freaking me out.
YOU HAVE TO have a referral from someone you know, this is weird because they give you money the more people you refer, so if this is how they are making their money 1 sounds like an MLM, when will they stop focusing on trading and instead just focus on what their business is about? (This could be legit but I am very careful when it comes to MLM)
When speaking to the presenter, they never asked if anyone wanted to ask questions with a Q and A and just left a few of my questions unaswnered even though her presentation was all about how they answer questions and their course is awesome because its interactive…. so… that's a little sus.
They are offering trips to Mexico and things like this, which I actually like but I am also a little werieded out by, I feel like they might be using this as a crazy tactic.
So its only 20$ which isn't that much, however they don't accept things like PayPal or Venmo so they would have my actual information if I sign up for them, now is 20$ worth giving them this? What can they actually do with it… also is 20$ worth the knowledge they are going to give me? hmmm…..
What do you guys think about this? Have any of you actually been successful in not getting formal training?
I’ve been trading stocks here and there by using tips that I’ve learned off of countless hours of internet research and YouTube videos. My friend got interested in Forex trading because his friend said he made $1k in a day. I don’t believe in buying courses and I’ve told him that but he’s getting convinced on this because his friend bought a $300 course and uses some Forex program and ended up making that $1k a day. We are all 20 so $1k makes our mouths water, but my friend has absolutely no experience in any sort of trading. I know that most trading gurus make a lot, if not most, of their income from selling information so I don’t buy the idea that paying for a course will somehow have an impact on your trading abilities. I decided to join this Forex subreddit to see what any of your thoughts are. I’m pretty new to Forex as well so I’ll be sticking around just to learn. tldr; my friend wants to buy a course to learn Forex but I don’t think it’s a good idea because all the info is free on the internet. Thoughts?
Good afternoon, I am looking for beginner tips on how to get started I have already been looking at brokers and have been doing some research on forex analytics and forest park , What is a good starting point to invest ? I am not new to investing and trading as I have been dealing on the stock market and precious metals for over 8 years. Thank you for your time in reading this. Best regards
Hi there, I could really use some help here. I day trade using IC Markets (I believe they are Australian), Raw Spread account. I withdraw money from IC Markets every other week, maybe GBP 1,000.00 (now I am getting the hand of it), however, overall, I am still very much down.
Do HRMC see this going into my bank account, do they then, see the total loss I have with my deposits to IC Markets and my withdrawals or only look at the withdrawals I am doing?
The big question, is this taxable, is day trading taxable in the UK, I know there are three areas you can fall into, however, how do I know what area I fall into. Additionally, when does it get to the point I need to file a tax report (if I do?).
Is there a broker out there I should be using that means I do not have to pay tax, everyone mentions spread betting, but I just contacted IC Markets and they do not do spread betting. Can you please let me know all the information and your thoughts as I beyond confused on all of this and really could do with some advice.
I have done so much research on the topic and do not have an answer yet.
I’ve been learning forex for about 2 months, at the moment I’m practising trading pullbacks with Fibonacci and candle stick patterns, this set up shows a pullback to the 50% retracement level with lines up with previous resistance now acting as support.
If you don't know what I am talking about, just type it up. Take 15 seconds of your time, go in google images, and see the difference when you type "Forex lifestyle" and "stock market lifestyle". Theoretically, Forex trading isn't much different than stock trading. Both are financial markets using charts with candlestick that create the same patterns. Both rely on reports, news and the economy. Also, just like the stock market, banks and big insitutions trade forex too. In fact, forex is the largest financial market in the world with a daily volume around $6.6 trillion compared to only $200 billions for all the stock markets. Forex is responsible for the exchange of goods between countries. It is literally the foundation of a worldwide economy. So why is it that when someone asks you what you do for a living or that when you tell someone you're trading forex, you always get that weird suspicious look as if you're a fraud yourself. Why is it that people don't take seriously what you do and what you love doing, because they have this weird idea of a pyramid scheme created in their head. People are so lost. I mean, how could it even be a scam lmao. No matter what you trade: stocks, options, etf, bonds, forex, name them all... trading is trading. As long as I am making money and know what I am doing, and couldn't care less about other people's opinion nowdays lol. But lately I've been asking myself this question and I simply wanted to know other people's opinions. So back to my question: why does Forex gets such a bad rep?
